Every traveler needs a tourist visa except from people coming from USA, Malaysia or Isreal. You can acquire your visa via the Mongolian embassy in your country. There you will also find the necessary application forms for the visa.
Flights are not included in our prices. Early booking are recommended because they are cheaper. We have made some good experiences with Wildberrytours. Of course you can travel with whatever company you want.
Showers, toilets and sometimes also a sauna are placed in wooden buildings in the center of the camps. The yurts come with a small laundry table, two beds, two stools, a table, a wardrobe and a small oven. The camps are fenced and guarded. The yurts are two-bed-yurts, single occupancy is available for a fee. More beds on request.
The food quality in Mongolia is very good. The meat is 100 percent organic. You can find a wide range of international restaurants which offer European, Asian and Mongolian cuisine. Traditional Mongolian and German meals wait for you in the yurt camps.
You can pay with Euro in the hotel "Goldener Hirsch" and on tour with Tunga. You can exchange money in the exchange office or in banks. Credit cards in Ulan Bataar are only accepted in larger hotels and banks. You should bring around 350 Euro in cash with you when you go on tour.
What you should bring
Copies of your personal documents, trekking boots, sneakers or comfortable hiking boots, warm clothes, sun blocker, sunglasses, lip balm, windproof jacket, warm socks, medicine, flashlight, spare batteries and binoculars.
Because of weather and street conditions you should prepare for longer journey times — from four to nine hours. The day etaps are between 150 and 300 kilometres long.
It is your responsibility to get valid health insurance in time.
